It may sound ‘silly’ to suggest to action movement breaks or ‘exercise snacks’ throughout the day but when the benefits to your cardiometabolic health are being so strongly evidenced, I am happy to be a clown.

The research is stacking up – move more for better health!

“Interventions that interrupt sedentary time in the evening may improve cardiometabolic health by some magnitude in all participants regardless of bodyweight”.

“Physical inactivity, i.e. not reaching the recommended level of physical activity (PA), and sedentary behaviours (SB), i.e. sitting time, have been associated with increased risk for common metabolic diseases. Recent epidemiological data suggest that high volumes of SB are detrimental to metabolic health, even in the presence of regular exercise.”
